Babe Rainbow

^^

When: Friday 24th May
Where: Metro Theatre

'Morning Song' is the 1st single to be lifted from the upcoming 3rd album by Babe Rainbow. A generous helping of folk pop, flutes and floating harmony, acoustic guitar, late 70's electronic fox trot, and the choir of the women of the wonderfolk. Just an optimistic announcement of new cycle, fresh air. The new album is more musical and ambitious than previous outings. Produced by Sam Joseph from the Flightless / King Gizzard stable. Feels authentic to the Babe Rainbow but more diverse and sophisticated, like falling in love outwards, a perfect collection of pacific vibrations, brunch in Arcadia. Babe Rainbow sold out all their shows in 2018 across Australia, USA, France, Germany, Japan, UK and New Zealand, before taking time out for the birth of their first bambino and the recording of these new songs. 2019 sees the babes touring the world again, with 'The Morning Song Tour' their biggest and widest ever tour of Australia. Special guests to be announced soon.

Broods: Don't Feed The Pop Monster Australian 2019 Tour

^^

When: Tuesday 28th May
Where: Enmore Theatre

Born into an exceptionally musical family, frontwoman Georgia and brother Caleb had their breakthrough as Broods with the 2014 single ‘Bridges’ – a dark slice of electronic pop, released in a post-Lorde music era. That track appeared on their Joel Little-produced full-length debut “Evergreen”, an album that debuted at #1 on the New Zealand Albums Chart and #5 on the Australian Albums Chart. With “Evergreen” winning four gongs at the 2015 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards (including Album of the Year), Broods released their sophomore album “Conscious” in June 2016, with its lead single ‘Free' reaching the top #10 on Spotify’s US Viral Chart. Soon after, the duo found themselves on the road with Sam Smith on a sold-out US tour, before going on to play leading festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, and sharing stages with artists including Ellie Goulding, Haim, CHVRCHES and Taylor Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour in both Australia and New Zealand. Returning in 2018 with new music and a new focus, frontwoman Georgia Nott and her brother Caleb have gone back to basics and embraced their purest instincts to “make songs that were true to us, without hiding behind any kind of façade”, says Georgia. The first two singles from the upcoming album, the “brazen, euphoric” (Atwood Magazine) single ‘Peach’ and ‘Everything Goes (Wow)’, have been met with critical acclaim – with both tracks dominating radio play across Australia. Over the Australia Day long-weekend ‘Peach’ came in at #19 in triple j’s Hottest 100 – making 2018 their fourth feature in the annual Australian music poll and their first time to crack the top 20. On the new album, “Don’t Feed the Pop Monster”, Broods reunited with their long-time producer Joel Little (best known for his work on Lorde’s “Pure Heroine”), and also enlisted the producer Tommy English (BØRNS, K.Flay, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness). At turns ethereal and frantic, moody and euphoric, the result is an album that’s elegantly sculpted yet defies all pop convention. Broods will be joined by special guests the LA two-piece Moby Rich, who turn melancholy songs into bold, pop hooks and visuals. Their debut single, ‘Yoko Ono’, is a euphoric-by-way-of-ethereal burst of joy; a love song (or at least their version) about finding someone to match your strange. Broods are bringing their new music back to Australia in an all-new live show – don’t miss the chance to be among the first in the world to hear the new songs from “Don’t Feed the Pop Monster” live, alongside Broods’ catalogue of hits.

The tour kicks off at Melbourne’s Howler July 4 before travelling to The Brightside in Brisbane on July 5 and The Lansdowne in Sydney on July 6. Already confirmed to perform at this year’s Lollapalooza, Coachella and Electric Forest festivals, BAYNK’s first headline Australian dates since 2017 come in support of his soon to be released sophomore EP, “Someone’s EP II”, out Friday, May 15. BAYNK will be donating $1 from every ticket sold to the Christchurch Mayoral Fund – Our People, Our City, to go to the victims and families impacted by the tragic Christchurch shootings on March 15. Tickets for all shows go on sale at 12pm Friday, April 12. Born Jock Nowell-Usticke, BAYNK has been on a fast rise over the past couple years. Breaking into the scene in early 2015, BAYNK’s beginnings is the unlikely story of a kid who uploaded a song to Soundcloud while on holiday in Europe – who after losing his laptop and going surfing for a week, returned to find the track going ballistic with praise and attention from new fans and music industry. Followed by a steady release of singles since then, the young producer has clocked up more than 82 million plays on Spotify alone, marking him a top new artist to watch. Most recently, BAYNK received much critical acclaim for new EP singles "Off Limits" with Australian pop sensation Glades and "Settle" with UK artist and vocalist Sinéad Harnett. The music video for "Settle" also gained heavy praise for contributions made by co-director Spencer Graves (Kendrick Lamar, Lauv, Whethan). His latest single “Water”, out now via AllPoints, features pristine electronic production cloaked in intricate layers of horns and percussion highlighting BAYNK’s aptitude for crafting electrifying and innovative sounds. The new track comes in anticipation of the NZ producer's sophomore EP, “Someone's EP II”, which is set to be released May 15. With major festival plays under his belt such as St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Rhythm & Vines, Rhythm & Alps, WOMAD New Zealand, BAYNK has recently been announced to play Lollapalooza and Coachella. He’s been busy refining his live show with multiple North American runs, performing as special guest with San Holo, Kasbo and Hayden James, not to mention his own 13-date North American headline tour. BAYNK now brings his energetic, live instrumental show to Australian audiences this year starting in Melbourne on July 4.

Columbus, Ohio hardcore band BEARTOOTH are bringing their The Disease Tour down under. Tickets for all shows go on sale at11am Thursday, February 28. My Live Nation members can secure tickets first during the exclusive pre-sale beginning10am on Wednesday, February 27 until 10am Thursday, February 28. Led by multitalented instrumentalist and songwriter Caleb Shomo, BEARTOOTH are now three albums into a remarkable career that has seen them fast become a headlining festival act due to their raw, dynamic and theatrical live show. They’ve collected awards from heavy and hardcore tastemakers Kerrang!, Metal Hammer Golden God Awards and Loudwire Music Awards, all the while cracking the metal and commercial charts worldwide. Previous releases on Red Bull Records “Sick” (EP) (2013), “Disgusting” (2014) and “Aggressive” (2016) have won the group a legion of loyal followers, but it’s the new and third full-length album “Disease” that has seen them cement their reputation as a global force in the hardcore genre.Disease is brave in its painstakingly riff-driven examination of the demons that come from a dark depression. “The album is a whirlwind of emotion,” Shomo explains. “Crazy highs, crazy lows, and lots of intensity. This record isn’t about winning anything. It’s about trying to even begin to learn how to deal with things. It’s hard to process just how dark you can get, what you can really put yourself through with expectations. It’s like starting from the beginning all over again. At the end of the day, it is a very dark album.” “Compelling, relatable and genuinely edge-of-your-seat listening...” – Album of the Week, Kerrang! “Get your fists in the air, embrace someone you care about and come grab life by the throat with Beartooth!” – Heavy Mag. “12 tracks of catchy, heavy, venomous brilliance.” – Invicta Mag.
